Practical Solutions for Progress in Kentucky’s Fourth District

This week marked one year since the meltdown of the financial industry began, and we still do not have measures in place to ensure it does not happen again. We have been impacted by the mortgage debacle, and many of our neighbors have lost their homes. To make matters worse, our unemployment is at record levels. With all of these extraordinary challenges, there is no doubt in my mind we will find good solutions.

As my campaign crisscrosses the district meeting Kentuckians in the Fourth District, it is apparent that we need a leader who is not only aware of the needs we have today, but also is one who is forward-looking and can fight for practical solutions to future challenges. It is time to use all our energy in order to bring jobs back to Kentucky and make our educational system competitive again;. We must move beyond ramping up the status quo policies.  Instead, I want to transition into a fresh industrial era designed to create new and better paying green collar jobs for Kentuckians while improving the carbon footprint of our traditional resources.

Rest assured, it will take each and every one of us to make this happen, but if we sit on the sidelines the game is over. We need to rid our government of politicians whose sole reason for serving is to represent the needs of special interests and not the needs of Kentuckians. It is time for our district to finally have a voice in Washington DC that will fight each and every day to ensure that the vital needs of Kentuckians are heard.

As we learned from President Obama’s race, every contribution, whether it is $24 or $2400, makes a difference. Therefore, I ask you to make a contribution today and further challenge you to ask ten of your friends to invest $24 or more in this fight for better tomorrows.
